Gig on the 22nd Feb!

Hello all,

We are very much looking forward to this Friday as it is our first gig at the beautiful Smugglers Inn out at Osmington Mills. It’s a gorgeous pub/restaurant that we have enjoyed frequenting over the years and we are excited to have the opportunity to play there.

We will be playing from 8pm onwards, so come on down and join us for some yum food, drink and music.

You may want to book a table to avoid disappointment, check out the website here: http://smugglersinnosmingtonmills.co.uk/

Let the ukeing (and eating) commence!

Tune in to Wessex FM between 2-4pm to hear Maria Greenwood’s show ‘Unplugged’, where we are interviewed along with a number of other local musicians and bands. Should be a great show!

Day 22 – Reflections

As our advent count down nears it’s end, we think back over what have done this year and we are amazed. So many wonderful adventures in 2012, our first year as TTWU, and the promise of so much more in 2013. We feel very lucky with all the opportunities we’ve had this year. A few highlights include busking through the Olympics in our hometown, playing at River Cottage and being invited to perform at a number of beautiful weddings.

Thank you to all of you that have come to one of our gigs, or rocked up at one our busking spots- we couldn’t have achieved everything we have this year without such wonderful support from our friends and families x x x

Day 21 – It’s F F FRIDAY!

It really is nearly Christmas now, schools out and work is done for many. We are celebrating with an evening out with friends, a trip to the pictures and a few drinks. We hope have that Friday feeling like we do and that this little video gets you in the party mood xx

Day 20 – It Must Be Christmas (LOVE)

Christmas is all about love. We LOVE love. And we love this lovesong by Madness:

Day 19 – Christmas in Full Swing

As music teachers as well as ‘Til There Was Ukers, Stacey and I have our most hectic but most festive week this week as it’s full to the brim with school Christmas concerts and events! It is nice to be in schools and around kids at Christmas, they are so excited and it really gets you into the spirit.
Last night, we had our biggest concert and all our groups did so well. It’s refreshing to see how kids approach a performance, some with nerves but most with excitement. So many of them are fearless and it is encouraging to remember what that feeling is like, putting inhibitions and ego aside. We were very proud of all our kids involved!

Day 18 – What a Grand Time

We so enjoyed our slot at AIR radio last night! The studio and hanger were looking suitably festive with a fairy lights shining and the smell of mulled wine in the ‘AIR’ (get it?!) We started the live performances with our versions of Last Christmas by Wham and the classic Winter Wonderland. We then sat back with a mince pie to enjoy Danny and the Goosemen play, they were great and did a lovely accousitc version of Danny’s Christmas song ‘Coming Home’ which he wrote and released last year. Incidently Stacey did the choir arrangements and lead a local group of singers and musicians on the recording last Decemeber, so it was special to see the song performed again live.
We then got back involved to do a performance with the boys on the Christmas classic ‘Fairytale of New York’, this was great fun and we really enjoyed TTWU’s first musical collaboration. All these performances should be available on the AIR website and YouTube channel soon!
