A Trip Down Memory Lane…

There is much excitement in the TTWU camp this week as this coming Wednesday (3rd August 2016) we are going to be hosting our first ever radio show! We will be taking over the AIR (FM) waves for their Wednesday night HiJacked Slot and we can’t wait!

We could talk about and listen to music 24/7, in fact that is what we do a lot of the time. So having the opportunity to share our love and enthusiasm for music is a really exciting prospect.

Narrowing it down to just a two hour playlist, with time to fit all of of our gabbing in between has been proving rather difficult though. So to help us reign it in a bit we have decided to pick a few songs that help to narrate our musical life together so far. We met in a GCSE music class when we were just 14 and this is where our friendship and musical partnership began.

It been so wonderful to take a look back over the past 16 years (yikes) remembering the special songs, gigs, performances and general musical moments that have meant so much to us. We have picked a very eclectic mix of tunes, everyone with it’s own story attached to it. For many people, music has a wonderful way of evoking such powerful memories and pure nostalgia – it really is capable of transporting you back to that very moment in your life, and because music is such an important part of our everyday life – we are very lucky that we are able to connect with it in this way too.

We hope you are able to tune in on Wednesday and join us reliving our mini musical odyssey. You can tune in at AIR FM 107.2 and we’ll be on from 8 – 10pm.

This picture pretty much sums up our musical life xx

We Are Back!!!

Hello, hello! Firstly we must apologise for the neglect!

The world of TTWUke has been a rather manic one over the last 6 months…! ‘Write A Blog Post’ has been on the ‘To Do’ list for that ENTIRE time however it fell below & lost out to – Get Married (Lucy) -Move House (both of us) – Go to Thailand (both) – Turn 30!! (both!) as well as gigging, working, playing, singing, living, loving…. you know – the usual!!!

BUT, we are back and don’t worry, 2016 has still seen us partaking in all things uke related just not posting about it on here, if you follow us on Facebook (link on the top left of the page…plug plug) then you will have still been able to keep those toes dipped into our whereabouts!

Our most recent foray took us out to the beautiful village of Portesham, just up the road from our home of Weymouth to support a fantastic event called ‘Ellafest’. The festival in memory of a local girl who died in a  tragic accident & her family organised this wonderful even to celebrate what would have been her 21st birthday and at the same time raise money for the Air Ambulance. The event raised a FANTASTIC £16,500 – wow!!

Stacey got a Go Pro for her birthday so we can take FANCY PHOTOS! Woop!

I promise we will now keep you more regularly up to date with all we have going on…! This summer for us is all about, chilling, settling, reflecting and of course SINGING!!

If you would like to get in touch then please do, we love to hear from you! We are currently in the process of updated our set list so if you have any tunes you think we could have some ‘Til There Was Uke fun with then let us know & we’ll give it our best shot!

Lots of Love, All The Ukuladies xxx

Hello Folks,

Our sixth video is here! We really enjoyed recording this with the band Wilson at the super cosy Ship Inn Upwey. It felt especially nostalgic to play with Steve (on the far left of the video), who was our old college lecturer way back when!

The song is called ‘Little Friend’ and it is a Wilson original, we hope you like it.

Wilson we be joining us at our fundraiser on Sunday 6th December. You can learn more about them if you click HERE!

Week 5 has arrived…. fancy a bit of Friday Night Funk?!

Last weekend we had the pleasure of recording with a couple of dear friends of ours who also happen to play in a  FANTASTIC Disco/Soul Band – Hustle <- click here to check out their Facebook page!

Collaborating with gorgeous, talented friends made making this video all the more fun & keep your ears out for a cheeky guest vocal from their little one Jasmine at the end!! Too cute!!
