Sunny Sunday Success!

Working the 50s look.

Well what a fantastic time we had! Thank you to all at The Square and Compass Square Uke Fest for having us….the wind whipped up as we got there so we perched behind a wall for shelter but by the end of our set the sun was blaring! I have never seen so many ukes in one place! It was a stunning setting and our set was played gazing out at the green fields across to the bluest of seas.

It was a strange sensation to silence such a large crowd (in awe/enjoyment hopefully!) but there were plenty of toes a’tapping, smiling faces and people singing along.

Once our set was over there was a Mass Uke Jam. Chords were written on a huge white board and ukulele fans of all ages playing ukes of all colours, shapes and sizes joined in. It was a fantastically uplifting situation to be in and we really were in our element!

All ages, shapes and sizes loving the jamming!

About tiltherewasuke

Take two music loving ladies. Brew a friendship for twelve years. Add a quirky instrument. Stir in an idea. Leave to stand for a couple of months. You should be left with a duo who call themselves 'Til There Was Uke. A Vocal/Ukulele duo featuring Lucy Broddle on Ukulele and Stacey Rae Hobday on Lead Vocals. With our blend of original arrangements, whistle solos, creatively inspired looks and attention to detail we hope to entertain our audience with a mixture of well know and long forgotten classic tunes that have been administered with the TTWUke treatment! That treatment takes many guises and ranges from an old school Greenday standard with a time signiature change twist to an Amy Winehouse number sprinkled with a latin feel.
